Dr. Felix Klopmeier, LL.M.

Dr. Felix Klopmeier's work primarily focusses on all the areas of intellectual property and unfair competition law. He advises and represents German and international enterprises and groups of companies. A specific area of specialization of Dr. Klopmeier lies in the conduction of patent infringement and patent nullity proceedings. It is particularly in patent nullity proceedings that he has represented clients up to the German Federal Supreme Court, leading them to success many times. From a strategic point of view the first priority in all consultations and proceedings is to find pragmatic solutions whereby the clients' objectives can be achieved in the most economic and effective way.

Dr. Klopmeier also frequently works for the beverage industry and for companies in the field of system catering. In these industries above all foodstuff law and distribution law have a considerable importance. An important part of his work is the enforcement and defense of well-known trademarks as well as actions against "me-too" and counterfeit products.

Alongside his membership in national associations, Dr. Klopmeier has mainly international commitments. Until June 2018 he led the Interlaw "Affinity Group" NextGen E/ME/A, and between 2015 and 2019 he was a board member of the Association of Intellectual Property Firms (AIPF). Since October 2021 he is leader of Interlaw's IP Special Business Team for Europe/Middle East/Africa Region.

In October 2018 he received the "Interlawyer of the Year 2018" award. In November 2022 and again in October 2023, Wirtschaftswoche listed him as Renowned Patent Litigator.

Dr. Klopmeier has studied law at the Universities of Düsseldorf (Germany) and Maastricht (The Netherlands). During his legal internship he inter alia worked for Mkono & Co Advocates in Tansania. In 2008 he received his PhD (Dr. iur.) with a dissertation about "The Dogmatics of Damages in Patent Law". In 2011 he obtained a Master's degree (LL.M.) in the area of intellectual property and unfair competition law.
