Dr. Felix Klopmeier, LL.M.

Dr. Felix Klopmeier's practice focuses on all areas of intellectual property and copyright law. He advises and represents German and international companies. A particular focus of Dr. Klopmeier's work is the conduct of patent infringement and patent nullity proceedings. In patent nullity proceedings in particular, he has repeatedly represented clients successfully up to the Federal Court of Justice. Strategically, the efficient achievement of the client's economic goals is always at the forefront of all advice or proceedings.

He regularly deals with technical issues in the fields of computer-implemented inventions, IT and computer technology, semiconductor physics or chemistry, mechanical engineering or automotive engineering.

Furthermore, Dr. Klopmeier frequently works for the beverage industry. In addition to the usual areas of intellectual property law, food law and distribution law are of particular importance in these industries. A significant part of his work involves the enforcement and defense of well-known product brands and the containment of counterfeit products.

In addition to being a member of national associations, Dr. Klopmeier is particularly active internationally. He headed the Interlaw "Affinity Group" NextGen E/ME/A until June 2018 and was a board member of the Association of Intellectual Property Firms (AIPF) from 2015 to 2019. Since October 2021 he leads Interlaw's IP Special Business Team for the Europe/Middle East/Africa region.

In October 2018, he was awarded "Interlawyer of the Year 2018". Since November 2022, Wirtschaftswoche has listed him annually as one of the most renowned attorneys in patent law.

Dr. Klopmeier has studied law at the Universities of Düsseldorf (Germany) and Maastricht (The Netherlands). During his legal internship he inter alia worked for Mkono & Co Advocates in Tanzania. In 2008 he received his PhD (Dr. iur.) with a dissertation about "The Dogmatics of Damages in Patent Law".
